Restaurant Manager – Gusto Caledon

Job Summary
Gusto Caledon is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our full-service restaurant and bar. The successful candidate will lead the front-of-house team, ensure exceptional customer service, maintain high operational standards, and manage both restaurant and bar operations. This is a hands-on management position that requires strong leadership, organization, and bar knowledge.
Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar.

Lead, train, coach, and supervise front-of-house staff.

Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees.

Create weekly staff schedules and manage labour costs.

Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed properly.

Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.

Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

Ensure food and beverage quality meets company standards.

Manage bar operations, including cocktail quality, beer and wine service, inventory, and responsible alcohol service.

Monitor inventory levels and place food, beverage, and supply orders.

Control food and beverage costs while minimizing waste.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor licensing, and food handling regulations.

Perform daily cash reconciliation and monitor sales performance.

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, bar, kitchen, washrooms, and dining areas.

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during all shifts.

Support restaurant promotions, events, and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurant.

Minimum 2 years of bartending or bar management experience is required.

Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and responsible alcohol service.

Experience managing both restaurant and bar operations.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Experience with staff scheduling, hiring, coaching, and performance management.

Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation.

Smart Serve Certification is required.

Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
