Clinical Assistant (International Medical Graduate / Physician Assistant Candidate)
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate International Medical Graduate (IMG) or Physician Assistant candidate to join our clinical team in a supervised healthcare support role. The Clinical Assistant will support physicians and healthcare staff in delivering patient-centered care within a walk-in or primary care clinic environment.
This role focuses on assisting with patient intake, clinical documentation, patient education, and delegated clinical tasks under the supervision of licensed physicians. All responsibilities will be performed in accordance with clinic policies, infection prevention standards, privacy legislation (PHIPA), and applicable guidance from the Ontario Ministry of Health and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient care activities in accordance with clinic protocols and physician direction.
Conduct preliminary patient assessments including medical history intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation in the electronic medical record.
Perform focused clinical observations and assist with physical examinations under physician supervision.
Accurately document patient encounters, clinical notes, and relevant medical information in compliance with privacy legislation and clinic policies.
Prepare patients for examinations and support physicians during clinical assessments and minor procedures.
Assist with delegated clinical tasks such as immunizations, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other approved procedures within training and scope.
Provide patients with general health education and instructions regarding follow-up care, preventive health practices, and treatment plans as directed by the physician.
Support coordination of patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing requests.
Maintain infection prevention and control standards and assist with clinic quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to all applicable privacy and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Medical degree from a recognized international medical school (International Medical Graduate) or completion of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Eligibility to work in Canada.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment principles, and clinical documentation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality, ethical clinical practice, and professional conduct.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Important Compliance Notes
This position is a clinical support role. The Clinical Assistant does not independently diagnose, prescribe medications, or provide medical treatment unless appropriately licensed and authorized under applicable Ontario regulations.
All clinical activities are performed under the supervision and direction of licensed physicians and in accordance with applicable healthcare regulations and clinic policies.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
