AZ Equipment Operator
Direct Bore Inc. is a leading partner in utility network construction, working with major providers such as Bell, Telus, Hydro Ottawa, and Cogeco. We specialize in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and also provide civil construction and hydrovac services to support critical infrastructure projects throughout Eastern Ontario.
We are currently seeking an AZ Equipment Operator to join our construction team based out of Greely, Ontario.
As an AZ Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for transporting construction equipment and materials to and from job sites, as well as operating a variety of heavy equipment in support of telecommunications and utility infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for an experienced operator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys a mix of driving and equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles requiring an AZ licence.
- Transport construction equipment, materials, and tools to and from project sites.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
- Operate various pieces of construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other support equipment as required.
- Conduct daily pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections.
- Complete vehicle logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist field crews with construction activities and site preparation as required.
- Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid AZ Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of load securement requirements and commercial vehicle regulations.
- Experience in telecommunications, utility, civil construction, or related industries is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional out-of-town assignments when required.

Experience:
- Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (preferred)
