Fieldstone School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable educator to teach Mathematics and Science from September through December 2026. This position is a maternity leave contract with the potential for renewal.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Middle School Mathematics and Science following the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum.
- Teach Primary Mathematics classes as assigned, following the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that promote conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning.
- Assess student learning in accordance with Cambridge standards and school policies.
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate professionally and regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in school meetings, events, and other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field in Mathematics, Science, or a closely aligned discipline.
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) certification is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong subject-matter foundation; official university transcripts will be required.
- Experience teaching Primary and/or Middle School Mathematics and Science (Cambridge experience is an asset).
- Ability to deliver clear, structured lessons and differentiate instruction effectively.
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student-centred, concept-driven learning.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative approach.
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to the start of employment.
