The Department of Diagnostic Services supports a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients and families, providing service within Radiology, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional. This department operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The adult Medical Diagnostic Units at Hamilton Health Sciences include the MDUs at Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. These are all administered in the Diagnostic Services program with a unified management structure. Specially trained physicians, technicians and technologists provide a range of both In-Patient and Out-Patient diagnostic testing that focuses on Cardiac, Pulmonary, and Neurological issues. The specific diagnostic tests available are: Electrocardiography (ECG), Holter Monitoring, Stress Exercise Testing, Echocardiography (Echo), Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT). Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (MG), Evoked Potentials (EVP) and Peripheral Vascular Testing.
The Booking Office Manager reports to the Director, Diagnostic Services and MDU and functions as a member of the Diagnostic Services Leadership Team. The Booking Office Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Diagnostic Services Centralized Clerical, Booking Clerks, Business Coordinators, Imaging Library Clerks, and Business Clerks. The Booking Office Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to provide customer-focused/client response patient services for both internal and external stakeholders. The Booking Office Manager is responsible for assisting with the development of department and strategic plans in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Core values of the Hamilton Health Sciences. In consultation with the Director, the manager is responsible for planning and preparation of the annual operational plan and budget as it relates to the management of human, financial, material and capital resources of the site, ensuring the department operates in a manner that is efficient, volume and outcome responsive yet operating within current budgetary restraints. The manager is responsible for safe day-to-day operation of the department, fostering a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration and shared learning while ensuring excellence in the provision of services and quality patient care.

1. Undergraduate Degree: Health Care Administration or equivalent experience
2. 3-5 years previous supervisory leadership and management skills in a hospital setting
3. Formal training for Human Resource management, including knowledge of Labour Relations and interpretation of applicable collective agreements
4. Knowledge and understanding of financial management and planning
5. Advanced computer skills and knowledge of hospital processes and system’s (Microsoft Office, PACS, Meditech, Kronos, Taleo, MI Req, SOR reporting, Budget Tool, Baseware, eRTP)
6. Medical Terminology
7. Knowledge of MoHLTC reporting standards
8. Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
9. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building, and the ability to initiate and model positive change
10. Evidence of commitment to continuous education
