Job Title: Financial Analyst
Reporting To: Director, Finance
Purpose: To prepare detailed, accurate, and clear budget to actuals variance analysis and management reporting as well as systems implementations for the Finance team.

Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reporting by program with variance analysis
- Working closely with Program Managers, prepare annual budgets and monthly re-forecasts
- Prepare monthly analysis on cash flow and investment returns
- Help to identify opportunities to systemize donation revenue recognition and reporting and lead the systems implementation process
- Support with the preparation of reports for Board of Directors, as well as funder and grant agency reporting
- Create and maintain complex financial models and dashboards and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis, as requested
- Lead or participate in other approved initiatives or other projects as requested by the Foundation
- As the trusted financial analysis partner to the organization’s leadership, ensure effective collaboration with program leaders
- Adhere to the highest levels of security re: the Foundation's digital and physical assets
- Other finance-related duties as assigned
All employees may carry out a range of functions beyond their core roles and are expected to help with advancing the organization as a whole
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive financial analysis and reporting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field; CPA or MBA is an asset
- Expert Excel skills required
- Demonstrated experience in preparing budgets, forecasts, cash flow and investment analytics, business cases and scenario analysis
- Strong analytical, modelling and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience implementing new financial systems for reporting and analysis
- Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) tools an asset
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to focus and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Experience working in a non-profit organization an asset
