What You’ll Do
As our Regional Buyer, you are responsible for providing tactical and strategic purchasing support to the regional procurement teams across Metrie. You will collaborate with sales, operations, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure the company has the right mix of products available at our distribution centers. Being in a centralized role supporting regional teams, you will need to prioritize multiple requests and coordinate efforts with regional teams to maximize organizational benefit.
Location: Candidates must be based out of Halton Hills to be considered. The expectation is for the incumbent to be on-site on a regular basis, with the option for flexible work arrangements.
Reporting Relationship: You will report to the local Purchasing Manager, and have interactions with the Channel Leader, Directors of Procurement, Purchasing Managers, Regional Director, Buyers, Branch Admins, Operations and Manufacturing.
As our Regional Buyer, we need your in-depth knowledge of operational excellence, collaboration, customer focus, and sound business acumen to:
Place purchase orders ensuring flow of inventory to achieve optimum stock levels and meet turnover goals
Support the purchasing process for product categories across the region while collaborating with regional sales, manufacturing, operations and supply chain
Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities and to respond where needed in the organization
Communication of key concerns in pricing and/or availability of product to the regions
Maintain effective vendor communication with our Supply Chain partners
Work with Procurement team to execute the purchasing plan as directed
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and different levels of leadership within the organization
Support Supply Chain team strategy and align with our Integrated Business Planning
Ensure that Metrie balances internal manufacturing with external supply opportunities for the best company result
Support standardized tools and processes to achieve consistent and reliable results
Assist in training and onboarding of new purchasing resources
Who You Are
We would love to hear from you if you have:
Progressive experience working with SAP
Familiarity and/or experience with Materials Management and Procurement Processes
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
Experience working independently and collaboratively with a team
Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English

It would be an added bonus if you have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Demonstrated progressive experience in a purchasing role
