Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight over long distances, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and vehicle operation. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and the ability to handle freight efficiently. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist in warehouse operations related to freight handling when required
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely and efficiently (certification is a plus)
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, lift heavy items, and perform vehicle inspections as needed
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory
This role is vital for ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our supply chain while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
