We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Appliance Technician with a valid Ontario G2 Gas Technician License to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential gas and electric appliances. The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential gas and electric appliances, including gas ranges, ovens, dryers, cooktops, fireplaces, furnaces, water heaters, and other household appliances.
- Install, disconnect, and commission gas appliances in accordance with TSSA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform gas leak testing, pressure testing, and safety inspections.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and gas-related faults using diagnostic tools.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and recommend repairs or replacement when necessary.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and warranty documentation accurately.
- Educate customers on the safe operation and maintenance of appliances.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario G2 Gas Technician License.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in appliance repair, HVAC, or gas equipment servicing is preferred.
- Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
Preferred Certifications
- ODP Certification (asset).
- G2 Gas license
