The Town is looking for 4 Officers, Municipal Law Enforcement! (3 Permanent Full Time, 1 Contract [14- Months])
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this role is responsible for enforcing municipal by-laws, including animal control, parking and licensing. Officers will also provide public education, and awareness programs and services in order to ensure the protection of residents and property.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Law Enforcement, Criminology or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an enforcement environment interpreting and applying by-laws/regulations, conducting investigations and ensuring regulatory compliance. We are seeking an individual with superior verbal and written communication skills, a demonstrated experience with research, analysis and preparing detailed documentation (e.g. notices of violation, orders, forms, Part 1 and Part 111 processes under the POA etc.) and the ability to deal (objectively and calmly) with the public during dispute or conflict situations.
This position offers a salary range of $71,552.88 - $84,616.97 plus a competitive benefit package.
Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
COVID-19: In consideration of the current pandemic and Public Health orders, the Town of Caledon is providing limited in-person services as Town Hall is open to the public by appointment only. The successful candidate for Officer, Municipal Law Enforcement will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
