About Us
EHSP is a full-service firm built around professionals and leaders in the field of environmental and occupational health and safety. We help clients keep their employees safe by assessing worksites for asbestos, mould, lead, and a myriad of other hazardous materials. We provide advice on how best to control these materials including assisting them with managing the safe removal and disposal. We help develop and improve their health and safety programs through technical testing, monitoring, auditing, and training. Our clients and specific industry experience include manufacturing of all types, light and heavy construction, transport, education, facility management and service sectors.
Position Summary
The successful applicant will work under the direction of Project Managers to complete the day-to-day, hands on, site and office related aspects of the projects. You will travel to client sites, review site conditions, set-up sampling equipment, collect air or material samples and collect site field data. Specifically, this may include:
· Visually assessing buildings for various hazardous materials (including asbestos, lead, mercury, PCB, and ODS), collecting bulk samples of suspect materials for laboratory analysis, and developing hazardous materials reports and documentation.
· Providing project oversight during abatements at client sites to assess employer compliance with OHS Act, Regulations and Code.
· Completing asbestos air monitoring and site inspections including analysis following the NIOSH 7400A method.
· Developing and executing exposure monitoring programs including air sampling and analysis consistent with the established project scope.
· Assisting in the development of hazardous materials management plans, safe work procedures, and scopes of work.
· Conducting other industrial hygiene consulting activities such as exposure monitoring, radon monitoring, indoor air quality monitoring, noise assessments, potable water testing, and turnaround support.
· Auditing equipment and machinery for hazards and creating risk assessments to determine proper control methods.
· Interpreting and applying data results to regulatory requirements.
· Developing field, draft, and final reports for submission to the Project Manager.
· Calibrating and maintaining field sampling equipment as necessary.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for overtime work based on project needs. Some weekend and evening work will be required. Travel between worksites will be required locally, with occasional out-of-town travel.
Salary Range and Benefits
· $50,000 - $65,000 commensurate with your education and experience.

Must have 6 months to 1 year experience in environmental health and safety, hazardous materials, or industrial hygiene.
· Post-secondary education in environmental science, health and safety, or the sciences. Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
· Working knowledge of sampling programs for hazardous material surveys, hygiene assessments, and air sampling.
· Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for local travel (mileage is reimbursed).
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
· Able to travel and work extended hours as required for project needs.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
· Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Coachable, with a positive work attitude.
