APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications should be addressed to the Dean of STM
The chosen candidate will work with the Distance Education Unit in setting up the course.

DUTIES: The duties of the Online Instructor include:
Providing course content and expertise in subject matter
Facilitating course discussions, ensuring active participation among participants
Responding to student questions and enquiries within appropriate time period and providing appropriate assistance
Designing and marking assignments and providing appropriate feedback
Encouraging student participation in course-end evaluation forms
Setting and adhering to quality standards in line with University norms

STIPEND:
Rates of pay shall be as follows including vacation pay:
Base stipend – $240.38 per student

Base +1 increment – $249.32 per student

Base + 2 increments – $258.26 per student

Base + 3 increments – $267.20 per student

Each increment will be obtained after teaching 18 incremental online credit units.

Administration has the discretion to hire at a level above the base rate of pay based on each individual’s qualifications compared to the minimum qualifications of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in the discipline except for Catholic Studies where a Ph.D. in a Humanities discipline or a discipline relevant to Catholic Studies is required. Demonstrated experience in the area of the course is expected. Candidates with a Masters Degree and appropriate experience will also be considered.
