Our client a well know organization located in Toronto is looking for a Vice President of External Reporting to join them for a or 3-month contract opportunity. This position is a core role within the Finance team.
In this role, the Vice President of External Reporting will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Review of consolidation of legal entities across all jurisdictions (Canada, US, Europe)
Review and preparation of consolidated financial statements and note disclosures
preparation and review of MD&A
Researching new financial disclosure requirements and assessing the impact on the Company
Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations to identify potential issues or risks and work with financial reporting team to resolve
Review of quarterly financial results, including detailed P&L analytics for accuracy and completeness
Preparation of working papers and analysis to support quarterly reviews and annual audits by external auditors
Coordination of internal, external and statutory audits
Assist with documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices for the finance team
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
University degree in business or a related field is required, together with a postgraduate accounting designation (CA, CPA).
8+ years of progressive experience in related functions including shareholder reporting, primarily management discussion and analysis, and financial statements.
Highly organized and demonstrates ability to work effectively in multi-tasking environment with high volume workload and tight deadlines
Maintains a high level of integrity, professionalism and strong attention to detail with the ability to assume greater responsibility as needed
