Lead Hand, Packaging Operator

To package Liquid, Cream, Soft-gel / Hard-shell Capsule and Tablet bulks in accordance with packaging instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Maintain and operate packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Adhere to Safety policies, GMP and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
Complete documentation required in a timely manner ensuring Good Documentation Practices are followed.
Identify correctly and handle packaging materials and liquid / cream bulk for each order.
Disassemble, clean and re-assemble packaging equipment.
Report any deviations found with respect to instructions, process or materials used.
Trouble shoot any packaging problems encountered and issue a work order for maintenance as deemed necessary.
Assist with quality and safety investigations.
Inspect equipment and work area for cleanliness, safety and proper set up prior to the packaging operation.
Maintain equipment and the work area in a clean and organized fashion.
Perform regular quality in process checks as specified in packaging documentation.
Lead with the Finished Goods Packaging Supervisor in the training of new line operators and re-training of existing line operators.
Scrutinize paperwork prior to handing in for Supervisor review.
Assist with validation studies conducted on the line.
Interact with peers, supervisors and personnel from other areas.
Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Strictly adhere and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Technical
Previous production, GMP and Safety experience an asset
Excellent communication of the English language both written and verbal
Strong mathematical, mechanical and trouble shooting skills
Attributes
Must be able to work with limited or no supervision
Demonstrates leadership qualities
Individual must be reliable
Ability to work in and create a team atmosphere
