Overview
As a Shipping and Packaging team member, you will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and packaging operations within RAM. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and accurate shipment of our products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
Shipping Operations
- Prepare products for shipping, including picking, packing, labelling, and securing items for transit.
- Generate shipping documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate and schedule shipments to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure orders are accurate and free from damage.
- Track shipments and update shipment status in the system.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding shipping schedules, tracking information, and delivery updates.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to shipping and packaging.
- Liaise with the sales team to address shipping-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Follow all safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in the movement of goods.
- Responsible for all physical areas of shipping inside and outside
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Management.
Receiving Duties:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Unload, unpack, and accurately document all incoming items.
- Organize and store received items in designated areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by logging received and shipped items.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues with shipments to the appropriate department.
Damage assessment and Claim processing
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for any signs of damage.
- Coordinate the process of issuing refunds or replacements for damaged or lost shipments.
- Investigate the root causes of shipping-related issues leading to damages or losses.
- Coordinate with the quality control to assess the extent of damage and determine the appropriate course of action.
General Duties:
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipper and Receiver or in a similar role.
- Forklift and overhead crane certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have good computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for accurate inventory management and order processing.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods as required by the job.
