Summary
This is an essential role at Eagle Press & Equipment, where you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge stamping presses. Located in Canada, this position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team committed to innovation and excellence in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using Creo (Pro/E)
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings with full BOMs
- Apply GD&T, fits, and tolerances to real-world parts
- Perform stress and deflection calculations (beam theory, first principles)
- Analyze kinematics & dynamics of crank, eccentric, and link-driven presses
- Calculate torque requirements and assist in component selection (clutches, locking devices, etc.)
- Select materials and specify heat treatment requirements
- Design pneumatic schematics for press systems
- Work with Service to troubleshoot and improve designs
- Support development of technical manuals and procedures
- Maintain engineering data using Excel & Access
- Participate in engineering meetings, project updates, and problem-solving sessions
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience (industrial machinery or metal forming is a big plus)
- Strong skills in:
- Creo / ProE (3D modeling & assemblies)
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding of:
- Machine design fundamentals
- Welding symbols & fabrication standards
- Basic metallurgy
- Hydraulics & pneumatics
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Solid math skills (algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics)
- Self-starter mindset — able to work independently and as part of a team
