Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Seamstress / tailor to join our team. In this role, you will bring garments to life through expert sewing, alteration & repairs, and tailoring techniques. You will take pride in delivering precise, high-quality alterations to ensure garments are altered perfectly. Whether it's resizing, hemming, or intricate repairs, you will need to treat every piece with care and expertise.
A full tailoring station will be provided to you with machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to construct, alter, and repair garments with precision and care for customer requests.
- Perform fittings on clients or dress forms to achieve the desired fit and style adjustments
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace equipped with sewing tools, fabrics, and patterns
- Assist customers with basic garment alterations and provide excellent customer service by explaining tailoring options
- Follow safety procedures when operating sewing machines and other equipment to prevent accidents
Skills: Must be able to do the following:
Dress alterations
Wedding dress alterations
Suit alterations
European hemming for jeans
Patching jeans
Torn or ripped pant Repairs
- Proven experience in sewing machine operation, and tailoring techniques is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of fashion retail environments and customer service principles
- Excellent sewing skills with attention to detail for finishing touches and quality control
- Basic math skills for measuring fabrics, taking measurements, and calculating alterations
- Knowledge of garment fitting adjustments and fabric behavior under different conditions
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and assist customers
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
