We are currently looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our production team.
Position Overview
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination of outgoing and incoming shipments while supporting the overall flow of production and fulfillment within the facility. This role works closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Supervisors, Customer Service, and external carriers to ensure jobs are shipped accurately, on time, and professionally.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask in a fast-moving environment, and comfortable communicating with both internal teams and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily outgoing shipments using courier and freight providers including FedEx, UPS, Canpar, local couriers, and LTL carriers
- Prepare shipping documentation including waybills, packing slips, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and shipment confirmations
- Ensure all shipments are packaged properly and meet customer and carrier requirements
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including customs documentation and HS code classifications
- Maintain accuracy with tariff codes, customs paperwork, and shipping compliance requirements
- Communicate shipment status, tracking information, and delays to internal departments when required
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and support receiving activities when necessary
- Work closely with Production, Bindery, Pressroom, and Project Management to prioritize shipments based on deadlines
- Verify shipment quantities and job accuracy prior to dispatch
- Maintain organized shipping and staging areas
- Assist with inventory movement and work-in-progress transfers within production
- Enter and maintain shipping information within internal systems and spreadsheets
- Support fulfillment and distribution projects including multi-location shipments and web store orders
- Help identify workflow improvements and efficiencies within the shipping department
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or print production preferred
- Experience with international shipping documentation and HS code classifications preferred
- Understanding of customs procedures, commercial invoices, and carrier compliance requirements is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Comfortable working with shipping software, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and spreadsheets
- Experience with courier systems such as FedEx and UPS is considered an asset
- Forklift experience is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift and move boxes/materials as required
