The Specialist Solution Architecture is responsible for defining and recommending a sound architecture to business stakeholders that will support the business’ needs and align with CN directions and standards.
Work with other solution architects, enterprise architects and designers to make sure the proposed solution is realized as per the architecture requirements.
Build Solution Architecture
Create, scope, plan, document and estimate to:
Build the solution and get approval from other stakeholders (e.g., security, RAM, Safety)
Drive alignment of the proposed solution with the enterprise and domain strategies, master plans and roadmaps
Manage risk mitigation and as required drive architecture-related issue escalation and resolution
Sign off on architecture where the Specialist has architecture delegation authority
Participate in the process governing architecture implementation during the design phase with expert architects
Prepare and review the technological evolution of solutions
Build technology roadmap (6–18 months)
Manage communications and drive escalation and resolution with stakeholders
Manage specialized architects by targeting development of the employees under the Specialist’s responsibility to either more specific specialization or broader knowledge
Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience
Minimum 5 years experience in OT, IT, development engagements, prime integration
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree and experience
Industry certification is an asset.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; adapt to audience

Applied Engineering, Mission Critical System of Systems
Demonstrated ability to bring complex concepts to actionable architecture deliverables
Network Transport – Core network transport MPLS, Network Timing (Sync E, 1588)
Network Core – L2/L3 networking, routing, network services ( F/W, DNS, NTP), network virtualization (SD-WAN, NFV, SDN)
Network Access – WiFi, Cell, License spectrum, deployment including field, roaming, remote connectivity
