Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with patient needs and clinical goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions to improve speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage caseloads efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation of progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies and exercises to support ongoing improvement.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Prior experience working in hospital or acute care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric populations and familiarity with pediatric therapy techniques.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings.
- Experience with case management processes to coordinate patient care effectively.
