The Learning and Teaching Commons (LTC) is seeking Curriculum & Instruction Specialists to join their team! These specialists will be members of the centralized team operating directly within LTC. The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist is responsible for supporting a culture of quality teaching and curriculum development through:

Development of resources to support academic staff development (curriculum design and delivery)

Academic staff development through facilitation of courses, workshops, consultation, and observation

Consultative support for the development of institutional academic policies and procedures

Support technical and educational innovation

Leadership support for projects relating to educational development

Maintain membership and support for all NAIT Academic committees

Provide consultation to embed digital learning objects in program specific areas

Support the Curriculum Review and Renewal (CRR) process

Provide consultation services to academic staff on issues related to instructional practices

Provide liaison services between program chairs and other NAIT communities

Implement best practices related to curriculum management to ensure relevancy and quality

Support program accreditation activities

Provide program mapping support where required

Support best practices as they relate to student success

Key Responsibilities:
The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist is responsible for:

NAIT teaching and learning framework (Outcomes Based Education, technology enhanced curriculum, and enhanced student engagement in a hands-on education framework)

NAIT quality standards

Promoting use and awareness of resources, expertise, equipment, and facilities

Assisting with special events that promote teaching and learning by supporting NAIT work units or committees

Skills and Knowledge:
A high level of knowledge in designing and delivering face-to-face and blended curriculum is required.

A strong commitment to a high-quality teaching and learning environment, and strong facilitation skills are essential.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education required. Other degrees with educational components (e.g. curriculum development, instructional design, educational studies, etc.) or degrees in combination with a certificate in adult learning or higher education may be considered in lieu of an education degree. Graduate degree in Education is an asset; related graduate degrees may be considered.

Minimum five years teaching experience, ideally in a polytechnic environment

Experience in a related role (e.g. coaching academic staff with instructional or curriculum development) post-secondary experience is preferred

Remuneration: $2,825.07 - $4,273.17 bi-weekly with a comprehensive benefit package
