Room to Bloom Therapy Centre is looking to hire a Supervised ABA Therapist to join our growing team (Shelburne location). We are a multidisciplinary therapy centre with speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, ABA therapy, and psychotherapy.
This independent contract position will be part-time with room to grow. The position will be in-centre as well as providing services in daycares, schools, in-home and with support of a BCBA/RBA.
Our clients range in their repertoire of skills and go up to the age of 18 years old. With training, guidance, and supervision from our BCBAs/RBAs, the therapist will implement programming drawn from evidence-based ABA techniques, complete data collection and other documentation, and complete other session-related tasks. They will provide the highest quality of service and will be flexible in order to meet the needs of clients and families. They will follow the ethical codes of conduct as outlined by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts (CPBAO), as well as the policies and procedures manual at Room to Bloom Therapy Centre.
Hours: MUST be available evenings during the week (3pm onwards) and Saturdays (hours vary as per client's request)
Reporting to: Our team of Board Certified Behaviour Analysts/Registered Behaviour Analysts (BCBA/RBA)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 therapy sessions in client's homes or in centre
- Participate in completing assessments under BCBA/RBA guidance
- Help contribute to client goal setting alongside the BCBA/RBA and caregivers
- Completion of mandatory trainings: ABA Therapist online and hands-on trainings (e.g., 40 hr online training), Safe Management Group (SMG) crisis prevention and intervention training, CPR-C, and First Aid.
- Data collection and graphing
- Use proactive and management strategies to reduce/eliminate challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, self-injurious behaviour)
- Follow policies and procedures in place at Room to Bloom
- Must be comfortable toilet training clients of all ages
- Supervision meetings with the BCBA/RBA, while also communicating concerns as they arise.
- Helping with marketing and in getting new clients for the company
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in psychology, social sciences, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), education, or a related field.
- 40-hour ABA therapist training (or completed within 3 months of hire)
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
- Experience working with children and/or teens with a developmental disability
- SMG, CPR-C, and First Aid to be completed within 3 months of hire
- G-class license and a personal vehicle
- At least 1 year of experience with ABA is preferred
