Overview of role:
As the Analyst, Offer Management & Optimization, you will tackle the complex puzzle of airline pricing by bringing WestJet's Offer Management strategy to life through data-driven execution. This role is focused on actively optimizing fares, designing dynamic bundles, and leveraging large datasets to test and deploy modern offer strategies.
Acting as a critical bridge between Commercial and Technology teams, working alongside Pricing, Revenue Management, Digital, Distribution, and external technology partners, you will ensure WestJet delivers innovative retailing capabilities that directly boost revenue and elevate guest value.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer Execution & Optimization
- Support the evolution and daily execution of WestJet's Offer Management capabilities across:
- Fare price optimization
- Ancillary price optimization
- Dynamic bundle generation
- Offer optimization and decisioning
- Commercial experimentation and testing
- Offer governance and configuration
- Collaborate closely with Pricing and Revenue Management teams to ensure pricing strategies are effectively executed through Offer Management tools.
Cross-Functional Delivery
- Manage day-to-day technical workflows with internal teams and external vendors, using tools like Postman to validate API requests, troubleshoot integrations, and ensure seamless offer delivery.
- Participate in the business delivery of new capabilities by working with stakeholders across the organization including Pricing, Revenue Management, Distribution, Digital, Commercial Technology, Finance, and the Contact Centre.
- Gather and document business requirements, coordinate testing, and assist with change management and release readiness to ensure successful implementations
Performance Management
- Monitor product performance, build queries, and identify optimization opportunities by tracking key commercial metrics, including:
- Revenue uplift
- Conversion rates
- Ancillary attachment
- Bundle performance
- Pricing effectiveness
- Customer adoption
- Provide regular reporting, dashboards, and actionable recommendations to leadership
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, airline commercial strategy, pricing, revenue management, product management, or distribution
- Experience supporting complex technology or commercial transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors
- Understanding of airline pricing and revenue management principles
- Familiarity with Offer Management and Pricing Optimization concepts
- Knowledge of airline retailing and distribution
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with proficiency in analyzing performance data
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
- Strong hands-on experience querying large relational databases using SQL on cloud platforms like Snowflake, and visualizing data in tools like Tableau or PowerBI
- Familiarity with API testing and validation (e.g., using Postman) to support technical troubleshooting and vendor integrations is an asset
