Live-In Assistant Resident Manager
About the Role:
Equiton is looking for an Assistant Resident Manager, who has both customer facing and maintenance experience.

Reporting to the Resident Manager, our live-in Assistant Resident Managers will maintain the building(s) and check the surrounding grounds daily. Assists residents in a timely manner, shows suites, books and schedules contractors as required.
Compensation: $23,000 annually plus $27,456 apartment benefit ($2288/month for a 2 bedroom apartment). ($50,456/yr total)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily cleanliness of common areas and prepare vacant suites for new residents
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and concerns
- Troubleshoot and resolve building and tenant issues effectively
- Show available suites to prospective tenants and support leasing efforts
- Book and coordinate contractors for maintenance and repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of the property, including building systems and grounds
- Perform minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry, basic HVAC checks)
- Ensure life safety systems and fire regulations are adhered to
- Manage work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and incident reports
- Support move-in/move-out processes including suite inspections and key management
- Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks (snow removal, grounds upkeep, waste management)
- Distribute resident communications such as building notices and updates
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a positive community environment
- Remain available for evening and weekend on-call duties
What You Bring:
- 2-5 years of experience in property management or a similar hands-on building operations role
- Strong DIY skills with the ability to perform minor plumbing and carpentry repairs
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, fire safety regulations, and life safety systems
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift 15 kg, bend, push, pull, and navigate stairs regularly
- Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office, text, and email; experience with YARDI is a strong asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills, fluent in written and spoken English; a second language is an asset
- Sales or leasing experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (Ontario) is an asset
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certification
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to complete a criminal record background check
