JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a strategic and results driven leader with a mechanical and maintenance background to join our team in the role of Section Manager, Advanced Inspection & Maintenance based in Pickering, ON.
Advanced Inspection and Maintenance (AIM)division is a leader in critical asset management for the Energy Sector and supports OPG’s internal (nuclear, renewable generation, refurbishment) and external (via Laurentis Energy Partners (LEP)) customers.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Section Manager, Advanced Inspection & Maintenance will assume a lead role in providing advice and guidance to OPG clients on a variety of technical matters within maintenance, operations, performance, design and commissioning. This role also provides oversight and field support to contractors in a manner consistent with project expectations and OPG’s policies, procedures, safety values and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the execution of routine and non-routine inspections including the tooling and resource field implementation.
- Supervise and lead a team according to excellence standards in theperformance of operations and maintenance activities in accordance with Ontario Power Generation and Nuclear safety standards.
- Prioritize work, identify critical steps and adjust work assignments to meet needs.
- Comfortable working in industrial plant environment.
- Collaborate with others to develop and implement inspection and new tooling plans efficiently.
- Assist in preparing resource budgets, report costs incurred versus budget and assist with controlling costs.
- Analyze the performance of department against industry standards, OHSA, prepare performance improvement plans and incorporate into work programs and business plans.
- Be able to investigate, identify and implement corrective and improvement actions and provide progress reports to managers.
- Ensure effective short & long term workforce forecasting are in place to accurately predict the requirement of critical skill Nuclear Staff.
- Track corrective and improvement actions and provide progress reports to managers.
- Co-ordinate and implement Continuous Improvements initiatives
EDUCATION
- University degree or college
QUALIFICATIONS
OPG is seeking a dynamic proven leader who has the following:
- 8-10 years of direct field experience in Nuclear, Aerospace, Industrial and/or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching and development skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.
- Knowledge of maintenance and operating responsibilities including relevant procedures, problems, codes, and standards, system equipment characteristics, control, maintenance and resources requirements.
- Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and/or Quality Control experience or CGSB certifications considered an asset.
- Knowledge related to field/operational practices and procedures, in addition to having a good working knowledge regarding the operation of a nuclear facility an asset.
- Experience in the operation of nuclear generating plants, including specialized equipment, processes, tooling, techniques and methods used, and the application of the specialty to nuclear generating stations and associated facilities an asset.
- Strong planning, managerial, and leadership skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
