Gas Technician 2 / Journeyman Gas Fitter
MasterTech HVAC and Plumbing — HRM · Full-Time ·
About the Role
MasterTech HVAC and Plumbing is hiring a licensed Gas Technician 2 (G2) or Journeyman Gas Fitter to join our team. Most of our work (about 60%) is rough-in and installation of gas lines in new homes for a small group of builders and contractors we partner with directly — steady, repeat work rather than one-off jobs. The rest of the role covers residential and commercial gas service calls, plus gas piping and venting installations for boiler change-outs. Will work with our HVAC division as well.

- Rough-in and install gas piping systems in new residential builds for our contractor partners
- Install Gas Fireplaces in new home construction
- Perform residential and commercial gas service calls — diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
- Install gas piping and venting for boiler change-outs and related mechanical work
- Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan installations
- Test and inspect completed work to ensure it meets code and passes inspection
- Communicate directly with builders, contractors, and customers on job status and requirements
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and code compliance
- On Call Rotation
