iGaming Ontario is an agency of the Government of Ontario responsible for conducting and managing the Province’s regulated internet gaming (iGaming) market. Established in July 2021, iGaming Ontario works with private gaming operators and government stakeholders to deliver a safe, sustainable, and healthy market that operates in the public interest.

Departmental Summary
The Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis team supports iGaming Ontario’s financial operations by providing budgeting, reporting, accounting, and analytical services. Operating in a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive environment, the team oversees key financial processes, including month-end reporting, expense management, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
Work Description
We are seeking a Co-op Student, Finance to support our finance team's daily operations and ongoing projects. You may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:
- Assisting in the implementation of the new expense and reimbursement system, including system testing, data migration support, and end-user coordination.
- Supporting ongoing business operations, including month-end closing activities and daily accounting functions.
- Supporting reconciliation of expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Providing support for ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required.
- Assisting in establishing, executing, and streamlining finance-related processes within iGaming Ontario.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and optimizing workflows.
How do I qualify?
- Enrolled in a post secondary co-op program with a focus in accounting or finance. Working towards a Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or a related program is an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Mandatory
You must meet all eligibility criteria by the first day of employment:
1. Co-op Student Status: Enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student in a co-operative education program at a recognized institution.
2. Work Environment: You must be living in the province of Ontario during the term of employment and you are required to work in office 5 days a week.
3. Work Status: Eligible to work in Canada.
