Landscape Construction Lead Hand
Swick's Landscaping Ltd. is an established owner-operated company specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of exceptional outdoor spaces throughout the Lower Mainland. We are seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Lead Hand to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate is an experienced landscape professional who is an expert in at least one core area of landscape construction, including:
- Stone Masonry & Hardscape Installation
- Carpentry & Outdoor Structures
- Horticultural Softscape Installation
You will lead by example on site, producing high-quality work while mentoring crew members and assisting the Site Supervisor in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of landscape construction experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one specialty:
- Hardscape / Stone Masonry
- Landscape Carpentry
- Horticultural Softscape Installation
- Previous experience leading or mentoring crews.
- Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings.
- Experience operating a wide variety of landscape construction equipment and power tools safely.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract (preferred).
- Experience towing trailers and operating skid steers, mini excavators, or similar equipment is considered an asset.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily landscape construction activities on high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Assist the Site Supervisor with organizing work, assigning tasks, and maintaining productivity.
- Mentor installers and help develop crew members' skills.
- Ensure all work meets Swick's quality standards.
- Interpret construction drawings and layout work accurately.
- Install hardscape, masonry, softscape, carpentry, drainage, irrigation, or other landscape features depending on your area of expertise.
- Operate construction equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Monitor material usage and communicate project requirements to the Site Supervisor.
- Identify potential issues early and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Working Conditions
This position involves physically demanding work performed outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions. Projects are located throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Our operations yard is located in Richmond.

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
