Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Officer to oversee and optimize our supply chain and distribution processes. This role involves managing warehouse operations, coordinating transportation, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, procurement, freight, and demand planning to support seamless logistics operations across various channels including e-commerce and traditional distribution. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives and enhance overall supply chain performance within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse distribution activities, including inventory control, order picking, and materials management.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Coordinate transportation management systems (TMS) for freight scheduling and carrier relations, including 3PL providers.
- Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels, process orders, and monitor supply chain metrics.
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Support procurement activities, sourcing suppliers, and managing pricing strategies to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Implement demand planning strategies to align inventory levels with forecasted sales and market trends.
- Manage packaging operations to ensure product safety during transit and compliance with shipping standards.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely for materials handling tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives related to supply chain workflows.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping & freight documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management, or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and pricing negotiations.
- Experience with demand planning, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving processes, and materials management.
- Knowledge of 3PL logistics providers, freight management, and e-commerce logistics workflows.
- Data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for process optimization.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software for maintenance management is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; warehouse experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating across departments and external partners.
This role is integral to maintaining efficient logistics operations that support the company's growth objectives while ensuring high standards of quality and service delivery within the supply chain ecosystem.
Pay: Up to $63,000.00 per year
