Alongside our team of 180+ members spanning Media Buyers, Copywriters, Content Managers, Landing Page Developers, Content Creators, Email & SMS Coordinators, CGC & Influencer Managers, we need a talented Senior Email Marketer to harness the power of email to squeeze every ounce of value from our campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS:
Whether you are new to the email and advertising space or you are a grizzled vet, we are looking for people who can leave their ego at the door. Attention to detail, hustle, and the ability to manage projects trumps experience. We welcome the weird and wacky.
Required 4 years or more experience in any of the following email/SMS platforms:
- Klaviyo
- Mailchimp
- Postscript SMS
- Constant Contact
- Hubspot
- Sendgrid
- Aweber
- GetResponse
- Zoho Campaigns

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Lead the development of email strategies within a range of email platforms (primarily Klaviyo) for a number of Pilothouse client brands.
- Evaluate and iterate on creatives and content based on performance data.
- Collaborate with the media buyers and clients to test new content, reporting key findings back to clients.
- Meet with clients on a weekly basis to manage the delivery of email assets and anything that will contribute to a lift in conversion rates.
- Work directly with our dedicated content creation team to ensure email creatives meet the standards of our clients.
- Communicate regularly with team members and clients. Your voice will need to be heard.
- Study the latest content trends in the industry to coach other team members, steer projects and elevate email performance. What is working and why? What are the next opportunities?
- Think outside the box to provide new ideas and conversion strategies. Create, test, repeat.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Email Marketers are founded on three cornerstones: Strategy - Analysis - Collaboration.
Email is once again one of the most important digital marketing channels. As privacy laws tighten up, “owned” channels like email and SMS are the cornerstone of any digital marketing strategy.
Here are some example questions a rockstar Email Marketers asks themselves when scaling brands with email:
Strategy:
- What's the right mix of sequence automation and manual emails to create the best customer experience while maximizing profitability?
- Are there any additional ways to collect emails at different stages in the funnel? (i.e. deeper funnel lead magnets, referral programs/apps, etc)
- Outside of promotions and sales, how can email better support other departments or initiatives? (i.e. pointing customer reviews towards specific platforms, subscription programs, requesting User-Generated-Content from happy customers to supply content to media teams, etc)
- How can I create a feedback loop between my email data and the media teams? What learnings from both sides (top-performing headlines, copy, etc) can be shared to increase performance across all departments while creating unified messaging?
- What is the end goal (the "Job To Be Done") our Customer Avatar is trying to accomplish? What content can we include in our emails (image, copy, video) to demonstrate that this product will help them achieve that?
- What is the best landing page to send our traffic to? Is this TOF traffic that still needs to be sold? Or is it BOF traffic that's ready to convert?
Analysis:
- How can we best segment our audiences so each person gets content and emails that are most relevant to them?
- Which user behavior triggers can we identify and implement to leverage automation without sacrificing personalization?
- What can we learn from user data to inform and tailor our list hygiene practices for each unique brand?
- How can we better understand our list to optimize sending times, subject lines, calls to action, etc.
- How will I manage my A/B tests to produce actionable, communicable outcomes rather than data overload or data sets lacking statistical relevance?
Collaboration:
- Knowing that email purchase attribution is often double-counting with Facebook, Google, and other platforms, how can we forge a collaborative understanding with our client built on transparency and trust?
- What additional resources on the Pilothouse or client team are required to execute my strategy, and how will I manage those deliverables? (copywriters, designers, landing page devs, Shopify devs, etc)
