Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Property Accountant to join our growing property management team. Duties
- Manage full-cycle accounting for property portfolios, (retail plazas, industrial multi tenant and commercial rental properties) including accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Oversee detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Annual TMI / CAM Reconciliations
- Setting up new properties
- Oversee budgeting activities and assist in financial forecasting to support property operations and capital planning.
- Conduct regular auditing procedures to verify data integrity and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses tailored to property performance metrics.
- Collaborate with property management teams to analyze account activity, resolve discrepancies, and improve financial workflows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property or real estate accounting with a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Buildium and Yardi.
- Strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping, and auditing practices.
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable management within a real estate context.
- Ability to analyze accounts thoroughly and prepare detailed financial reports with precision.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial analysis techniques relevant to property management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
