Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and marine engines using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, tire services, and hydraulic system checks to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting, soldering, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, and other complex machinery systems with precision.
- Use power tools and heavy lifting techniques to disassemble, repair, or replace worn or damaged parts efficiently.
Skills
- Heavy equipment mechanic background with a strong understanding of diagnostics and repair processes.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components.
- Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems such as hydraulics, electrical wiring, and transmissions.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems (including air brakes), and suspension systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision during repairs or installations.
