About the Role
Fort Gibraltar is a historic venue operated by Festival du Voyageur that hosts weddings, celebrations, and special events throughout the year. We’re building a team of reliable House Managers who act as the main point of contact during events, ensuring they run smoothly and providing support to clients and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary venue contact during assigned events
- Open and close the building for event access
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and other staff on-site
- Ensure tables, chairs, and other facility items are in place according to event requirements
- Address questions, concerns, or issues as they arise during events
- Monitor the event to ensure compliance with safety regulations, venue policies, and any alcohol service restrictions.
- Conduct basic safety and facility checks before, during, and after events
- Supervise clean-up and ensure the venue is returned to proper condition.
- Lock up the building securely at the end of the event.
- Report any damages, incidents, or concerns to management promptly.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Dependability and punctuality, especially for evening/weekend shifts
- Ability to handle issues calmly and professionally
- Previous event or hospitality experience an asset (but not required)
- Must have reliable transportation
Compensation & Scheduling
- Paid hourly at $25/hr for each event worked
- Schedule based on event bookings — you’ll be contacted ahead of time to confirm availability
