Salary commensurate with education and qualifications.
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Under the general of the Director of Research and Manager Research Administration, the incumbent is responsible for the including:
- Providing comprehensive confidential Administrative support to the Director and Manager.
- Liaising with and maintaining a close working relationship with those who directly report to the Director and Manager.
- Acting Liaison and communicating effectively with all Researchers, and research staff, site and regional staff, University, government and research related business entities.
- Must have 3-5 years previous experience in a senior secretarial position.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Formal training in applied office skills required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Typing 60-75 wpm.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Acrobat Pro and virtual conferencing software (e.g. MS Teams or Zoom).
- Familiarity with the internal structure, corporate policies and procedures and physical layout of the Health Sciences Centre and University of Manitoba and Shared Health.
- Familiarity with research review and approval processes and policies and working collaboratively with diverse academic, research and clinical health professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and English communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to communicate with stakeholders from diverse functional areas, and convey complex information in tangible business terms.
- Must be well organized and able to establish priorities to meet deadlines and adjust priorities to reflect changing requirements.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.
- Must have decision-making ability, good judgment, initiative, diplomacy, and the ability to coordinate work flow and develop efficiencies.
- Must be able to function with limited guidance, supervision and monitoring.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Possess strong analytical skills and high attention to detail with the ability to identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and omissions.
- Working conditions include expectations for high level functioning in a fast-paced, high volume output environment, managing sensitive and confidential information and constant interruptions.
- Continuous use of a personal computer.
