Clover Tool is seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Associate- Automatic Welding to join our team. This position will involve operating welding equipment such as resistant welders and robot weld cells, as well as performing a variety of tasks to ensure the production of high-quality automotive parts in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have experience in automotive manufacturing, and be committed to maintaining a safe and environmentally-conscious work environment.
Day Shift:
6:45am- 2:45pm (Monday to Friday)
Afternoon shift:
2:45pm-10:45pm (Monday to Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to complete all reports correctly through the use of a scanner or by writing legibly or by entering information into our data collection software
- Ability to correctly measure/check parts by using micrometer, vernier, checking fixtures.
- Understanding of visual inspection as per IPIR requirements, and as they are produced at work centers.
- Operate metal production equipment such as Automatic robots, spot/resistance weld cells, induction hardening, punch press hand transfer operations, and other assembly equipment to produce top-quality automotive metal products safely and efficiently.
- Able to perform production equipment pre-inspections and sensor verification as per instructions
- Maintain physical stamina for full scheduled shift to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment such as reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, twisting, bending, sitting, standing, packing, stacking, grinding, cleaning, sorting, and counting as the products come off the production equipment or offline
- Lift up to 50 lbs and use manual or electric pallet jacks/pump trucks as required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or independently, with self-motivation and a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes.
- Maintain high attention to detail and perform inspections as per IPIR requirements.
- Good eye and hand coordination
- Able to correctly measure and check parts using checking fixtures, height gauges, torque push out readings, and other inspection instruments.
- Able to complete inspections and understand visual inspection by comparing samples as per IPIR (In-Process Inspection Report) requirements.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be able to understand and meet production standards
- Education – OSSD – Grade 12 or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write in the English language, to understand written instructions and convey information to co-workers
- A Team Player, with the ability to work independently when required
- Good Eye and Hand coordination, and mobility (must be able to bend, lift 30 to 50 lbs., and extension arms)
- Must recognize importance of and perform quality control dispensation.
- Listen, with the ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to use various stamping equipment tools
- Comfortable with loud noises
- Comfortable in a non-climate controlled environment
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and stand comfortably
