Pay

All guards are paid for 13 hours per shift plus travel time mention below regionally.
Paid Travel Time
- Ottawa: 2 hours paid travel time per shift
- Brockville: 1 hour paid travel time per shift
- Kemptville: 1 hour paid travel time per shift
Shift Schedule
- 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-hour night shift
- Shifts available throughout the duration of the project.
About the Site
This position is at a large power plant construction project. The site consists of a large open construction area where guards are responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, protecting property, and ensuring site safety throughout the night.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct full-site patrols every 30 minutes (vehicle or foot).
- Monitor all access points and construction areas.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security concerns.
- Complete accurate patrol and incident reports.
- Maintain communication with the Operations Team throughout the shift.
- Follow all site-specific post orders and company policies.
Required Uniform & PPEThe guard must have:
- CSA-approved safety boots
- Black cargo pants
Sentry Security Group will provide:
- Company uniform shirt
- High-visibility safety vest
- Safety helmet (hard hat)
- Safety glasses
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Ability to walk long distances outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Smartphone for reporting and communication.
Performance Expectations
This is a high-accountability position with strict operational standards.
- Patrols must be completed every 30 minutes without exception.
- The required uniform and PPE must be worn correctly at all times.
- Reports must be completed accurately and on time.
Failure to follow patrol requirements, falsifying reports, abandoning patrol duties, or failing to comply with the required uniform and PPE standards may result in immediate termination of employment.
