Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.
- Collect aggregate samples and perform field and laboratory testing to ensure products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Analyze, document, and communicate test results while maintaining accurate records and supporting production teams in resolving quality-related issues.
- Conduct quality inspections of production, stockpiles, shipping, and depot materials, including onsite sampling and troubleshooting when quality concerns arise.
- Collaborate with operations, sales, customers, and contractors by providing technical product support, investigating quality concerns, and communicating testing results.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through research, product development, process optimization, and identifying opportunities to enhance product quality.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and safe work practices while following established quality control procedures and site safety standards.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Materials Technology, Construction Materials, or a related field preferred, with one to two years of experience in aggregate, mining, construction materials, or quality control environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established testing procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across operations, production, customers, and contractors.
- Familiarity with CSA and ASTM testing methods and experience performing laboratory or field testing of construction materials is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Work is performed in both laboratory and outdoor industrial environments.
- Frequent travel to production sites with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- Role involves standing, walking, operating testing equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
