We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Door and Hardware Estimator/Installer to join our team.
Position Summary: We are looking for a full-time experienced Commercial Door and Hardware Estimator/Installer. The ideal candidate will possess the technical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to provide accurate estimates, build strong client relationships, and ensure successful installation and service of commercial doors and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Assessments: Conduct thorough on-site evaluations to determine project scope and requirements.
- Estimating: Provide accurate and competitive estimates for commercial door and hardware replacements, ensuring all project specifications are met.
- Client and Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members, ensuring clear communication and successful project outcomes.
- Installation and Service: Install and service commercial metal doors, frames, access control systems, architectural hardware, and wood doors. Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and retrofitting of existing openings and products.
- Electrical Systems: Understand electrical schematics and design/install low voltage systems for access control. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrified hardware.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to customers, addressing any concerns or challenges that arise.
- Document Verification: Evaluate and verify project documents on job sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Product Handling: Load, move, and handle products as required, maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of commercial entry doors and door hardware. Familiarity with automatic doors and AAADM certification is a plus but not required.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with doors, frames, and hardware is an asset. Prior experience with metal or wood door installations is advantageous.
- Construction Experience: Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not required. Ability to work in various environmental conditions on construction sites (e.g., hot, cold, windy, rainy, snowy).
- Blueprint Reading: Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints or construction drawings.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical, typing, and measurement skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Physical Abilities: Capability to work at heights, perform repetitive and heavy lifting, and maintain excellent physical condition and coordination.
