Overview of the opportunity:
Global Learning & Development (L&D) is a Center of Excellence in the Global People team. The mandate of Global L&D is to develop and execute a modern learning strategy that builds the capability needed to achieve the KPMG Collective Strategy and priority annual business goals. Global L&D’s goal is to innovate and deliver high quality, efficient and effective learning and performance support solutions directly aligned to global business needs and future talent requirements.
In line with the Global People strategy, Global L&D is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the L&D strategies for:
- Global Audit, Global Tax and Global Advisory
- Global strategic cross functional opportunities including Global Sales and Markets
The Global Head of Learning and Development (L&D) is responsible for developing the vision and strategy for learning and development for KPMG in collaboration with the Big 8 member firms and three regions. This role is responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders from regions and member firms in order to manage, collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders.
The Global L&D vision and strategy must align with and support the execution of KPMG’s Collective Strategy, its associated business strategies and priorities of trust, growth, quality, efficiency improvements, service excellence and innovation.
The Global Head of L&D is responsible for establishing the most efficient and effective Governance and Operating models for Global L&D and chairing the Global Learning Council as well as overseeing the ongoing prioritization of global learning and development needs to maximize the return on investment for KPMG.
This role oversees Global L&D’s strategic planning and execution, with a particular focus on being business facing, visible and highly engaged with the Global functions (i.e. Audit, Tax, Advisory, Risk Management and Clients & Markets) and the Big 8 member firms/Regions to ensure overall support for plans – including financial support, investment, and high adoption of global learning programs throughout KPMG. The Global Head of L&D will be effective at developing solutions to work within with budget and funding constraints as they arise, and constantly strive for continuous improvement and increased efficiency within Global L&D.
The Global Head of L&D will lead the Global L&D leadership team who will assist in the formation of the overall strategy with a focus on the execution of the strategy and delivery of our strategic learning plans to KPMG.
What you will do:
Leads the development of Global L&D’s vision and strategy and translates them into annual business plans, while overseeing the implementation:
- Reviews and approves the Global Functions' L&D strategies ensuring alignment with the respective business strategies/priorities;
- Reviews priorities to ensure alignment with Global Learning Council - Big 8
MFs and Regions, leveraging existing solutions and collaboration where possible;
- Stays current on learning trends and innovations and their relevance to the workforce of the future/the modern learner within the Global people context;
- Identifies, proposes and ensures a consistent framework for Core Global Competencies that support business growth and engagement execution;
- Collaborates across the Global People CoEs, specifically with the Heads of
Talent, Digital HR, and Operations
Works closely with the Digital HR CoE providing insights on the current Learning Technology roadmap and future learning technology platforms, harnessing the use of learning technologies, measuring program impact, ensuring alignment and mitigating compliance risk
Team Management and Professional Leadership
- Provides direction on the performance and development expectations of Global L&D Leadership team;
- Assesses performance, takes corrective action as necessary and approves compensation recommendations; and
- Establishes ongoing programs to maintain high levels of employee engagement
Oversees the development and maintenance of the policies, practices, procedures and controls for Global L&D ensuring compliance with KPMGI's global policies, practices and procedures as well as KPMG's financial and risk management frameworks
What you bring to this role:
Professional Designation such as CPA, PMP or other a plus Post degree education, Masters or MBA is an asset
Keys to your success:
The ideal candidate is an executive L&D professional with a focus on business performance improvement and implementation of strategic initiatives in a global, complex matrix environment with an appreciation for partnership structured professional service organizations.
Ideally, incumbent should have experience in:
Managing a Global L&D function of considerable size and geographic distribution
Industry experience with a focus on professional services, enterprise solution selling and digital transformation
Proven experience successfully working with executive level management leading talent development
Strategic and operational planning
Communication and change management
Financial management including developing investment business cases
Business partnerships and fostering strategic alliances virtually
