Job Summary
We're seeking experienced and professional Security Guards who possess valid Use of Force, De-escalation, and Trauma-Informed Care certifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while utilizing a proactive, client-focused approach to conflict resolution, incident prevention, and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned properties, facilities, and designated areas.
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, access control systems, and security equipment.
- Control access to facilities and verify the identity of visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and disturbances.
- Utilize trauma-informed practices and de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and challenging situations.
- Support individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health crises, or behavioral challenges in a professional and respectful manner.
- Apply Use of Force techniques only when legally justified, properly trained, and authorized by company policy and applicable legislation.
- Complete accurate incident reports, occurrence reports, and daily activity logs.
- Liaise with emergency services, law enforcement, management, and client representatives when required.
- Enforce site policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.
- Maintain a visible security presence while providing exceptional customer service.
- Assist with emergency evacuations, crowd control, and crisis response activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- De-escalation , Trauma-Informed Care and Use of Force Certification is an asset .
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification is required.
- Strong understanding of conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong report-writing and documentation abilities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to respond effectively during emergencies and critical incidents.
- Capability to perform duties in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
