We are looking to add to our FARMtastic team!Looking for a rewarding seasonal opportunity or a great side hustle?We're looking for experienced Bakery & Kitchen Team Members to help prepare thousands of baked goods and food items enjoyed by our guests throughout the fall season.
This position is ideal for someone who already has commercial kitchen or bakery experience and is looking for additional seasonal income, a second job, or a rewarding temporary contract. Whether you're currently working in food service, between jobs, semi-retired, or simply looking to earn extra income, we'd love to hear from you.
Our bakery is one of the busiest departments on the farm. During peak season, we prepare large quantities of baked goods and food for thousands of guests every day. We're looking for individuals who enjoy staying busy, take pride in producing outstanding food, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
This seasonal contract begins in August and runs through October, with opportunities for extension for exceptional team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and production of baked goods and other food items.
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation.
- Bake & cook products while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Keep workstations clean and organized throughout each shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Help prepare products for busy weekends and special events.
- Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.
- Assist in other food services areas of the farm when required.
We're Looking For People Who
- Have at least 2 years of recent experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, café, bakery, catering, food service, or other professional food preparation environment.
- Enjoys working hard and staying busy.
- Take pride in producing outstanding food.
- Are dependable and arrive on time.
- Can work independently while also being part of a team.
- Stay calm and organized during busy periods.
- Take initiative and are willing to jump in wherever needed.
- Can commit to the full seasonal contract from August through October.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial kitchen or bakery experience required.
- Baking experience is considered a strong asset.
- Food Handler Certification is required (or must be obtained before your first shift).
- Reliable transportation is required. Snyder's Farm is located just outside Kitchener-Waterloo and there is no public transportation available to the farm.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
- Flexible and willing to assist in different food service areas when needed.
