Solutions Thru Design is a metal fabrication shop specializing in custom solutions for our clients. We help our customers to decrease/eliminate downtime, replace OEM parts more cost effectively with shorter lead times, and custom design parts. We are a critical supplier to several major manufacturers in our region and take pride in delivering quality products on time.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler (Engineering Technologist) to join our team. We are a small and dynamic team and are looking for someone who is a great fit in both skill and personality for this critical position. The role is a bridge between our engineering and production teams and ensures critical information and materials are available when needed. In this role you will be required to take on multiple responsibilities and wear different hats to meet the companies needs at any time.
Duties:
- Monitor projects throughout life cycle from purchase order to delivery
- Print & organize drawings for production teams (welding, forming, machining, assembly)
- Accurately order parts from drawings or BOMS
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are available for production
- Deliver direction and feedback to production team with leadership and tact
- Check parts throughout manufacturing process and prior to shipping (QC)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Load/unload materials, assist on shop floor as needed
Skills:
- Strong understanding of fabrication, welding and machining processes
- Mechanical knowledge to comprehend manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of production systems and processes
- Ability to read fabrication drawings
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- ERP/MRP Software Experience
- A team attitude and willingness to pitch-in where needed
- Forklift license & driver's license required
- Solidworks experience an asset
- Hand tool knowledge is an asset
- Welding experience is an asset
- Brake Press experience is an asset
