About the position:
McMan’s Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit a dedicated Team Leader who will lead a team of staff to assist individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and some complex behaviours to enrich their quality of life in their community. The successful candidate will build a strong and effective work team. As the Team Leader you will act as a resource for staff members with regards to policy and procedure, successful development, conflict resolution, and general support and guidance.
Please note that this is a temporary position with the end date of March 15, 2027.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm; total of 40 hours per week, split between Leduc Res. 1 & Res. 2, with on call rotation.
Location: Leduc, Alberta.
What you’ll do:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities
· Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community
· Work effectively as a team with the individuals and their support team to help achieve their goals
· Assist with program creation, implementation and evaluation
· Oversee and coordinate all aspects of case management; including support plan development and implementation
· Complete daily documentation
· Network with community/vocational contracts
· Staff supervision, evaluations and training
· Oversee and complete general worksite cleaning as required
· Learn, maintain advanced knowledge of, and adhere to all McMan policies and procedures
· Participate in on-going program development
What you bring:
· One (1) year towards completion of a Degree or Diploma in Disabilities Studies or the Human Services field. Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.
· Two (2) years experience working within the Human Services filed; plus six (6) months supervisory experience
· Equivalencies may be considered
· Police Information Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)
· A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a minimum of three years of verifiable driving experience, a reliable vehicle, and $2 million in auto insurance coverage are required.
· Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask
· Computer/Word processing skills
· Ability to assist with personal care and lifts & transfers
· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices
· Desire to see individuals succeed
