COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

As a Communications Specialist, you will work closely with other members of the operational and management team. You will be responsible for the development, execution, and measurement of effective digital media strategies in support of JORI International's corporate objectives and annual business priorities.

The successful candidate is the go-to expert in the area of digital and social media platforms and technologies and is highly skilled at developing strategic solutions to advance the organization's corporate priorities and at leading project execution. The successful candidate has a thirst for new and emerging web and digital trends and a track record of leading digital strategies from concept to execution in support of the global logistics industry. An excellent writer and multimedia communications expert, the candidate is highly effective at applying text, graphics, video and other media to deliver clear and strategic messages.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds content-driven strategies that tell our brand story in a compelling way that offers value to our potential customers, builds their trust in our brand and moves them into action to interact with the brand
  • Builds communication strategies that map to high-level business goals and audience personas, maximizing the commercial impact of communication
  • Work with subject matter experts to plan, write and edit content; ensures it is clear, compelling and properly distributed across the web, mobile and social platforms; and adheres to a consistent brand philosophy
  • Oversees content requirements and content strategy deliverables across project life cycles and path to purchase, including analyzing content and conducting audits across several communications channels such as digital; web, social media, CRM, SEO, SEM, email marketing, and traditional marketing; marketing literature, publication ads, editorials, case studies, tradeshow displays, and corporate programs to drive awareness and conversion depending on the stage of the sales funnel
  • Develop CRM/Email marketing programs targeting key customer segments and personas to drive lead generation and conversion and retention of customers
  • Help with the implementation and content creation for our in-house training program (JORI University) built on the Moodle platform

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience in content development and conversion marketing
  • Excellence in communication, specifically to influence outcomes
  • Superior skills in Social Community Engagement
  • Strong knowledge and ability to effectively identify, implement and use relevant marketing technology tools
  • Self-motivated; comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with specialists across multiple teams and offices
  • Demonstrated success in developing and fostering collaborative relationships that result in improved performance and in managing cross-functional teams
  • Ability to use CMS (ie: Squarespace), video, audio and content editing tools, with a clear understanding of how-to tailor content to different digital and social media platforms

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relating related communications field; A bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 year(s) of experience in a similar role, with an emphasis on content creation or communications
  • Experience in creating digital graphics with tools such as GIMP or Photoshop
  • Experience in building email marketing campaigns with tools such as MailChimp or SendInBlue
  • Hands-on experience planning and executing integrated digital campaigns across CRM/Email, paid media, website and social channels
  • Experience in conducting interviews (internal with associates and external with customers), building White Papers, case studies and customer testimonials
  • Experience in the logistics industry; freight forwarding, and customs brokerage is an asset
  • Experience in creating content in Moodle is an asset
