Job Description
North Shore Kia | North Vancouver, BC
Full-Time | $85,000–$100,000+ Annual Compensation | Commission & Bonus | Benefits
Build Your Career With a Growing, High-Performing Service Department
North Shore Kia is growing — and we're looking for another driven Service Advisor to grow with us.
Over the past several years, North Shore Kia has experienced significant growth across our Fixed Operations department. In the last two years alone, our hours per repair order have increased by approximately 40%, while our After-Sales Service Index (ASSI) has consistently performed above Kia Canada's national average.
That growth hasn't happened by accident. It comes from a team focused on providing knowledgeable advice, transparent communication, strong processes, and an exceptional customer experience.
We're now looking for an experienced, motivated Service Advisor — preferably with CDK experience — who wants more than just their next job. We're looking for someone who wants to continue developing their skills, contribute to a strong team, build a loyal client base, and create a long-term career in automotive Fixed Operations.
If you're competitive, organized, customer-focused, and take pride in doing things properly, we'd like to meet you.
Why North Shore Kia?
North Shore Kia is part of the Dick Irwin Group Ltd., a family-owned and operated dealer group with more than 54 years in the automotive industry.
We believe one of the best measures of a workplace is whether people choose to stay.
Many members of the Irwin Group have built careers here spanning decades. We take pride in developing our people, promoting from within, recognizing strong performance, and creating opportunities for employees who want to grow.
At North Shore Kia, you'll be joining a Service Department with:
- Strong and sustained Fixed Operations growth
- Hours per RO up approximately 40% over the past two years
- ASSI results consistently above Kia Canada's national average
- A large and continually growing customer base
- Customers travelling from Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, the Sunshine Coast and Gulf Islands to service their vehicles with us
- A supportive management team focused on developing our people
- A collaborative environment where advisors, technicians, parts and management work together
- A rapidly evolving product lineup with significant growth in EV and electrified vehicles
- Genuine opportunities for advancement within both North Shore Kia and the broader Irwin Group
This is an opportunity to join a department that already has momentum — and help us take the next step.
The Role
As a Service Advisor, you'll be one of the most important connections between our customers and our Service Department.
You'll manage the customer experience from initial write-up through vehicle delivery, working closely with technicians, Parts and the rest of the Service Team to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently and communicated clearly.
Just as importantly, you'll develop relationships with customers that bring them back to North Shore Kia year after year.
Your Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly, professionally and genuinely
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests
- Review vehicle history and identify applicable maintenance requirements
- Recommend and right-sell maintenance and repair services based on each customer's actual needs
- Prepare accurate repair orders and maintain complete documentation throughout the repair process
- Coordinate effectively with technicians, Parts and other members of the Service Team
- Monitor repair progress and proactively communicate updates to customers
- Obtain customer authorization for additional work when required
- Clearly explain inspection results, recommendations, completed repairs and charges
- Set realistic expectations and follow through on commitments
- Build lasting relationships and develop a loyal customer base
- Follow Kia Canada warranty, service and dealership procedures
- Help identify opportunities to improve our processes and customer experience
- Support your teammates and contribute to the overall success of the department
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized, and takes ownership of their responsibilities from start to finish.
We have a busy and growing Service Department, but we also believe that great results come from working together. Our team-forward approach means you'll have the support of your fellow advisors, technicians, Parts team and management — and we'll count on you to provide that same support in return. We're looking for someone who communicates openly, manages competing priorities confidently, follows through on commitments, and isn't afraid to ask for or offer a hand when things get busy.
Above all, we're looking for a positive, dependable and well-organized individual who genuinely enjoys being part of a team and takes pride in providing a great experience for both our customers and their coworkers.
You understand that being a great Service Advisor isn't simply about selling — it's about earning trust, identifying legitimate customer needs, communicating value and delivering on what you've promised.
Ideally, You Bring:
- Previous automotive Service Advisor experience
- Experience with CDK is strongly preferred
- Dealership experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Confidence discussing and recommending maintenance and repairs
- A customer-first approach and ability to build long-term relationships
- Strong follow-up habits and attention to detail
- The ability to remain organized and professional in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
- A desire to learn, improve and advance within the automotive industry
- A valid BC Driver's Licence
We value experience, but we value attitude, accountability and drive just as highly. If you're motivated to improve and want to build your career with a strong team, we want to hear from you.
Compensation & Benefits

- Bonus and commission opportunities
- Employee discounts on Parts and Service
- Paid training and professional development
- Manufacturer training and certification opportunities
- Mentoring and support from experienced automotive professionals
