Job Overview:
The Marketing, Communications & Events Coordinator will play a key role in delivering the Branch’s marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts. This is an exciting time for a creative, dynamic, organized, and collaborative individual to join our Foundation; someone who has a few years of experience in the non-profit sector and is passionate about spreading awareness, increasing donor participation and making a positive impact in the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of Branch marketing and communications functions, along with strong support of fund development activities.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Marketing and Promotion:
· Collaborates in the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive Marketing/ Communications plan to promote the image and visibility of the Foundation in support of the Branch’s overall strategic plan.
· Develops and implements promotion/advertising of Branch fund development initiatives (especially Kidney Cars and Kidney Walks)
· Assists with the promotion of awareness activities throughout the year
· Liaises with the media to arrange publicity and facilitate interviews and coverage
2. Communications:
· Manages the researching, writing, and production of all Branch newsletters, e-newsletters, engagement letters and e-blasts (working knowledge of MailChimp an asset)
· Manages presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications
· Builds strong relationships with community media and media partners, and identifies and pursues media opportunities to highlight Branch mission and revenue generation.
· Ensures the Branch’s website content is appropriate, relevant, and up to date
· Stays abreast of changing technologies and social media platforms to effectively leverage the Branch’s programs and events, and advise on new opportunities for the Branch to expand its reach and explore additional platforms.
· Regularly reviews analytics with Supervisor to see how the Branch’s content is performing and use data to advise on content planning and/or new opportunities to grow and better engage audiences.
3. Event Planning, Coordination, and Implementation:
· Participating in annual and long-range Fund Development planning for the Branch, in partnership with Manager, Community Development & Engagement, with a focus on Branch events and 3rd party events
· Collaborates with the Branch team to implement detailed event plans, focused on promotion to build participation and increase revenue
· Assists with securing vendors, suppliers, and sponsors, as well as registration, sales, and ‘day of’ activities
· Collect and analyze post-event feedback from participants, sponsors, and volunteers to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Needed:
· Post-secondary education in a relevant field, with at least 2 years of direct experience, preferably in a not-for-profit/charitable organization
· Proven skills in developing social media content, as well as managing social media accounts and websites.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Proven experience in event coordination and logistics management, preferably in fund development sector
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus
· Previous experience working with a broad range of partners from community organizations, major businesses, and volunteers
· Ability to think creatively and resourcefully. An analytical thinker with excellent problem- solving skills. Strong contributor in a team environment.
· Previous work in basic graphic design, photo, and print production (Adobe Photoshop, CANVA, and InDesign), along with knowledge of commercial printing would be an asset.
· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required during event periods
· Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
