SCHEDULE/HRS:
Monday to Friday 12:00-18:00 // 30 hours per week - Part time during school days, Temporary Full time hours during school breaks (Winter, Summer and Spring) and professional development days.
HOURLY WAGE:
$30.22 - $33.54 as per collective agreement
The Role:
The Lead Child & Youth Worker ensures the provision of an enriched school age program by providing opportunities for learning and social skill development for children; including participants requiring extra support.
Education & Experience:

Certificate or minimum of 3 years in related studies toward a degree such as Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Child Care, Social Sciences, or Education.

Minimum 1 year of direct experience with children in a school aged setting.

Strong interpersonal and team building skills.

Formal training in the area of counselling and behaviour management.

Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility and endurance for recreational activities.
Standard requirements of the Lead Child & Youth Worker include:

Criminal Record Clearance

Medical Clearance
-
Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract

Class 5 Driver's License
-
Able to obtain a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License

Valid First Aid/CPR
-
Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification - training will be provided

Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication

Basic computer literacy
