Overview
We are seeking professional and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our farm team.
This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to transport farm commodities across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to operational excellence. Candidates with knowledge of agriculture, cattle, and heavy equipment handling are highly valued.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance deliveries
- Load and unload cattle or bales or grain or farm equipment
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting to keep vehicles in optimal condition
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management to coordinate deliveries
- Able to put in long hours when seasonal harvest demands occur
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Knowledge of cattle and heavy equipment handling is preferred
- Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial drivers
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
