Overview
Western Workforce Skills Training Centre (WWSTC) is looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development and Sales Associate to help expand its workforce training and corporate education offerings.
In this role, the successful candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities, foster relationships with employers, community groups, government-funded initiatives, and educational organizations, and actively promote WWSTC’s training programs to potential clients. The position combines sales, partnership building, client relationship management, and community engagement to drive enrollment growth and increase corporate training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities with employers, industry groups, government bodies, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions
- Generate leads through a mix of outreach strategies, including in-person visits, phone calls, email campaigns, networking events, referrals, and community engagement
- Schedule and deliver meetings and presentations to prospective clients to showcase WWSTC’s training programs and services
- Prepare tailored training proposals and pricing quotes that align with client requirements
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospects and manage a strong, organized sales pipeline
- Achieve individual and team sales targets and business development goals
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with WorkBC Centres, settlement and employment organizations, Indigenous communities, employers, industry partners, and community agencies
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborative training initiatives
- Represent WWSTC at networking events, job fairs, conferences, and community engagement activities
- Maintain ongoing communication with existing partners to identify new opportunities for training and workforce development
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients
- Respond to inquiries regarding training programs, scheduling, pricing, and delivery options
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth program delivery and client satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and follow-up activities in CRM systems (HubSpot)
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate sales records and activity reports
- Track partnership development activities and business opportunities
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on outreach, sales performance, and partnership development efforts
- Support contract preparation, proposal development, and client documentation
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Public Relations, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, sales, employer relations, account management, or community outreach
- Experience working with employers, workforce development programs, training organizations, educational institutions, or non-profit organizations is considered an asset
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities

- Strong negotiation and consultative selling abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital communication tools
- Knowledge of workforce development, training programs, and labour market trends is an asset
- Willing to work on weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with WorkBC, settlement and employment service provider organizations, Indigenous communities, or employment service providers
- Experience selling training, education, or professional development programs
- Existing network of employer and community contacts in British Columbia
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
