The Maxson Sheeter Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the sheeter, converting paper from roll stock into sheets in preparation for printing. The Maxson Sheeter Machine Operator is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Sheeter to produce a high-quality product to the prescribed quantity. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting basic machine performance, making adjustments and calling for additional resources as required.
Shift:
The successful candidate will work three (3) consecutive 12-hour night shifts per week, 6 PM to 6 AM.
Early Week Night Shift: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED/Mature Student Diploma
- Machine operation experience
- Basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance experience
- Effective English use and comprehension
- Digital Literacy (Microsoft Office, keyboarding skills)
- Essential Math skills (Metric and Imperial measurements, problem solving, conversion charts, etc)
- Effective use of production related documents to accomplish job tasks
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery, equipment, product
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Demonstrated organization, prioritizing, time and stress management skills
- Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to operate and use small tools
- Continuous learning/improvement mindset
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating self-management capabilities
- Able to deal with people diplomatically and professionally at all times
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Must be willing to work at all Friesens facilities as needed
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures
- Paper knowledge is an asset
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work and communicate effectively with the managers, Inventory Stock Coordinator and co-workers
- Perform tasks according to the schedule or as directed by the Production Manager
- Manage sheeter duties for quality, efficiency and productivity
- Understand job requirements from the Sheeting Order and other sources
- Set up sheeter as required:
- Place rolls in stands
- Feed webs and adjust brake tension
- Set delivery system
- Begin sheeting run and check sheet measurements
- Monitor sheeting operation for potential problems
- Sheet job, complete necessary forms and store paper
- Manage and perform required sheeter maintenance as described in the Sheeter Maintenance Binder and the Operator’s Manual
- Practice Friesens safety procedures for equipment and plant situations
